Four individuals, together with two youngsters, had been killed whereas seven others had been injured upon being knocked down by a rushing truck on a freeway close to Bihar’s Sasaram on Saturday, police stated.
The mishap happened on NH-2 underneath Shivsagar police station space of Rohtas district within the early hours and the victims occurred to be every day wage earners who labored at a brick kiln in Uttar Pradesh and had been on solution to their properties in Latehar district in Jharkhand, Superintendent of Police Ashish Bharti stated.
He stated the travellers, stated to be about 30 in quantity, had been travelling by a truck and had stopped near an eatery to have some refreshments.
Some of them had been having a stroll near the highway when a rushing truck ran over them, killing Santosh Lohra (36), his son Balwant Kumar (03), Dilip Lohra (30) and Ashish Kumar (02) on the spot, the SP stated.
The errant driver fled the spot parking the truck close by which has been seized by police, Bharti stated.
The injured have been admitted to the Sadar hospital at district headquarters in Sasaram whereas the our bodies of the lifeless have been handed over to their members of the family after autopsy, stated the SP.
