Due to the lapse, Rajya Sabha MP Jyotiraditya Scindia travelled unescorted to Gwalior, police mentioned. File

Authorities in Madhya Pradesh in the present day suspended 14 policemen from two districts for a lapse in the security of BJP Rajya Sabha MP Jyotiraditya Scindia throughout his go to to the state, a senior official mentioned.

The lapse in Mr Scindia’s security occurred on Sunday night time when he was on his option to Gwalior after arriving from Delhi.

Gwalior Superintendent of Police Amit Sanghi advised PTI that 14 policemen — 9 from Morena and 5 from Gwalior district — have been suspended for negligence in dealing with Mr Scindia’s security.

Mr Sanghi mentioned the previous Union minister was to be escorted by Morena Police on the Madhya Pradesh-Rajasthan border and later this job was to be achieved by their Gwalior counterparts.

However, Morena police escorted one other automobile which was much like the one in which Mr Scindia was travelling, the SP mentioned.

The Rajya Sabha MP entered Gwalior un-escorted as details about his motion was not shared by Morena police with their Gwalior counterparts, he mentioned.

Following this lapse, motion has been taken towards the policemen from two districts, Mr Sanghi mentioned.
