Police have launched an investigation into the homicide case.

An eight-year-old woman was strangled to loss of life in a village in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday. Her physique was present in a sugarcane area late at night time within the Kheri district, about 130 km from Lucknow, hours after she went lacking. In the homicide case, the police have now additionally added rape costs, and people below the stringent POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act).
She was allegedly strangled with the garments she was sporting, police mentioned.
The woman was out on Sunday morning, in keeping with the villagers, along with her grandmother to graze goats of their fields on Sunday morning.
By afternoon, the woman mentioned she was going dwelling. When she didn’t attain dwelling by night, the household began searching for her.
“She told me she was tired and wanted to go home. So I told her ‘you go home I will graze the goats’ . I brought the goats in the evening. We then realised she never reached home. Then, we thought she may have gone to witness a local marriage ceremony. But we did not even find her there. Later, her body was found. Her legs were tied and there was a a lot of blood all over,” the woman’s grandmother instructed reporters.
Her father, a migrant laborer, isn’t in UP proper now. She was the eldest of three siblings.
“The postmortem was conducted by a panel of eight doctors . The cause of death has been determined to be asphyxiation due to antemortem strangulation. The postmortem panel has not found any confirmation of rape but because of the nature of injuries on the body of the girl. But, we are invoking the rape charges and the POCSO act to the case,” Vijay Dhull , Kheri’s police chief mentioned in a late-night assertion.
