Jammu:

The Congress will attend the all-party assembly convened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Thursday, its Jammu and Kashmir unit spokesperson Ravinder Sharma stated on Tuesday.

The choice was taken at a gathering chaired by Congress president Sonia Gandhi, he stated.

The assembly was attended by former prime minister Manmohan Singh and senior leaders Karan Singh, P Chidambaram, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Rajni Patil, GA Mir and Tariq Hameed Karra, the spokesperson stated.

Fourteen leaders from Jammu and Kashmir have been invited to the assembly to be chaired by the prime minister to debate the longer term plan of action for the union territory.

Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee president GA Mir and celebration chief and former chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad are among the many invitees.

The assembly is the primary such train for the reason that Centre introduced the abrogation of Jammu and Kashmir’s particular standing underneath Article 370 of the Constitution and its bifurcation into union territories on August 5, 2019.
