Sadananda Gowda mentioned extra vials of Amphotericin-B have been allotted to states, Union Territories.

An extra 61,120 vials of Amphotericin-B have been allotted to states, Union Territories and central establishments, Union Minister Sadananda Gowda mentioned on Wednesday.

Amphotericin-B is used to deal with mucormycosis, often known as black fungus, which damages the nostril, eyes, sinuses, and generally even the mind.

“Additional 61,120 vials of #LiposomalAmphotericinB have been allocated to all States/UTs & Central Institutions today,” the Minister for Chemicals and Fertilisers mentioned in a tweet.

So far, round 7.9 lakh vials have been allotted throughout the nation, sustaining sufficient availability to sufferers of mucormycosis, he added.
